A media wall is a built-in unit that runs the width of a wall around your TV, hiding the wiring, the box and the router behind flush panels and open shelving either side. We build the carcass on site to fit your room exactly, then finish it to match your existing skirting and woodwork. It suits any living room where a freestanding unit would leave gaps either side of a chimney breast, or where the cables behind the telly are the one thing you want to stop looking at.

Will it make a mess of my living room?
Dust extraction and floor protection are used throughout, and everything is tidied at the end of each day, not left for the last one.
What if the wall isn't straight, or has a chimney breast in the way?
We check this at the site visit and design around what is actually there, rather than what a standard-size unit assumes.
What happens if something isn't right once it's finished?
If something isn't right after we've finished, we come back and put it right.
Media wall installation, in more detail
A media wall installation starts with where the TV bracket sits and where your existing sockets are, so the cable routes can be planned into the panels and shelving before the carcass goes up. Getting this right first is what stops a media wall gaining a trailing extension lead a year later.
A bespoke media wall is built to your wall, not the other way round. Most rooms have a chimney breast, a radiator, a window or a door somewhere in the way of a standard flat-pack size, and a unit built off site rarely accounts for any of them. Building the carcass on site means it can step round a chimney breast, sit flush to an uneven wall, or run the full width of the room without a gap at either end.
A fitted TV unit is normally finished to match the rest of the room rather than left as its own separate piece of furniture. Skirting, architrave and paint are brought back in around it, so it reads as part of the wall rather than a cabinet pushed up against it. That finishing work tends to be what gets left out of a flat-pack fit, and it is usually the difference a visitor notices first.

How much does a media wall cost?
It depends on the size of the wall, the finish and how much of the electrics are already in place, so we price every media wall after a visit rather than guess. Get in touch and we will arrange a time to come and measure.
Can you fit a TV unit around an existing fireplace or chimney breast?
Yes. Most media walls we build step around a chimney breast rather than avoid it, so the unit fills the whole wall instead of leaving a gap either side.
Will the cables and TV box be hidden?
Yes, that is usually the main reason someone wants a media wall rather than a freestanding unit. Sockets, the router and the box sit behind the panels, with just the ports you actually use left accessible.
Do you make the unit in a workshop or on site?
On site. There's no workshop involved: the carcass is built and fitted to your room so it matches your walls and skirting exactly.
How long does fitting a media wall take?
It depends on the size and how much finishing work is needed to match your skirting and paintwork. We'll give you a proper timescale once we've seen the room and written your quote.
